Wisc. Mom Fatally Stabbed Daughter to Protect Her From Elon Musk

Authorities claim a Wisconsin mother allegedly told investigators she murdered her teen daughter to protect her from billionaire Elon Musk, according to reports.

As Us Weekly previously reported, Tyiece Oninski allegedly stabbed her daughter Kuren Rein to death in a Turtle home on March 19.

Rein was just 14-year-old.

Tyiece, 41, allegedly called 911 on March 20, and told dispatchers she had killed her daughter the night before.

During the 13-minute call, she allegedly said she had killed Rein “to protect her from somebody else.”

WMTV reports Oninski later admitted to police that person was Musk.

She did not say what kind of threat the Tesla and SpaceX owner posed to her child.

When she was asked if she needed an ambulance for her child, Oninski allegedly responded, “She’s dead, honey. She needs a hearse.”

Rein was stabbed multiple times with a knife that police have seized as evidence.

The mom also had a laceration to her neck as well as cuts to her cheek and wrists. She told police she tried dying by suicide but was unsuccessful.

Oninski was taken to the hospital for treatment and blood testing showed she had benzodiazepines, amphetamines and THC in her system. FOX 11 reports while Oninski was hospitalized, she “enthusiastically asked a deputy if her name was in the news and was disappointed to find out it was not.”

Oninski is being held on a $1 million bond and is due back in court April 14. She has yet to enter a plea to the single murder charge filed against her.

“Kuren was kind, intelligent, and maintained such contagious optimism, even in the darkest of times,” Megan said in her statement to WMTV. “This tragedy is the devastating ending to a years-long battle amongst family members and the overworked system put in place to protect our children.”

Rein was a freshman student who attended Beloit Memorial High School, WKOW reported. In a statement shared with students, the school’s principal, Emily Pelz, wrote that “Kuren will be deeply missed, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends,” according to the TV station.

“This tragedy will affect our school community, and this loss will understandably bring a range of emotions, questions, and concerns,” Pelz added.

A GoFundMe has been created to support Kuren’s family with her funeral expenses.

“Our hearts are shattered as we share the unimaginable loss of a beautiful 14-year-old life taken far too soon,” reads the GoFundMe page created by Meredith Jacobson. “This tragedy has left a family, friends, and an entire community grieving in ways words cannot fully express.”
