Days of Our Lives star Martha Madison revealed that playing her iconic character Belle Black has been one of the greatest joys of her career. The soap opera will soon complete 60 years on television. Thus, Madison took out time to reflect on the journey and mentioned what it means to her.
Martha Madison talks about portraying Belle on Days of Our Lives
Martha Madison joined Days of Our Lives in 2004 as Belle Black. She expressed feeling lucky to be a part of the show for so long.
In a Facebook post, she mentioned, “On Saturday, Days of our Lives will celebrate its 60th anniversary with nearly 15,500 episodes having aired since 1965.”
She added, “It has been the honor and privilege of my career to have been a part of this TV history for more than a third of that time. I feel incredibly lucky to work with this team, as well as the countless others who’ve passed through those Burbank doors since 2004.”
Madison further urged the fans to keep watching the drama on Peacock for the surprises that it packs, even after 60 years of being on TV. She noted, “Like sands through the hourglass – make sure you subscribe to Peacock because there’s plenty more of these crazy stories to come!” (via Soap Central)
Belle Black on Days of Our Lives was born to John and Marlena. Her story has had some of the most dramatic turns. She was once kidnapped as a child and was even part of legal battles. For her performance on the show, Madison was even nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019. The storyline involved Belle standing up for Marlena as her lawyer.
