US Marshals call off hunt for ‘killer dad’ Travis Decker in Idaho after false-alarm sighting

The US Marshals task force has called off the search for alleged killer dad Travis Decker in Idaho after a reported sighting some 500 miles from where his young daughters were found suffocated to death.

Federal, state and local cops descended on Sawtooth National Forest in central Idaho after a man who looked like Decker was reported “exhibiting odd behavior” hiking on an ATV trail over the Fourth of July weekend, according to KIRO-TV.

But feds located the man on Wednesday afternoon and spoke with him — and determined he is not Decker. The hiker was described as “cooperative,” the outlet reported.

Authorities in Washington state have engaged in a widespread manhunt for Decker, a US Army veteran, since June 2 when his three daughters — Paityn Decker, 9, Evelyn Decker, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5 — were found murdered at Rock Island Campground, about 55 miles east of Seattle.

Despite multiple false alarms, Decker hasn’t been seen since his disappearance. He is believed to have wilderness survival training from the military, and was reportedly suffering from PTSD and other mental health problems.
